You've emailed your UN representative to demand they support Colombia's Uniting for Peace proposal—thank you! That was a crucial first step. The next step is mass action.
This Global Call to Action, initiated by the Palestinian NGO Network (PNGO), builds toward a global strike. We are working with former UN officials, like Craig Mokhiber, to ensure the UN General Assembly passes this resolution and deploys a UN-mandated multinational armed protective force to Gaza immediately.
As soon as Colombia submits the proposal, we need non-violent mass demonstrations in every country. Your presence is critical to pressure your government to vote YES.
The demonstrations will focus on three primary target sites. Here's what they are and why they matter:
(e.g., Parliament, Presidential Palace, Capitol Building)
Why? To apply direct, visible pressure on your head of state and government, demanding they instruct their UN representative to support the resolution.
Why? To show direct, international support for President Gustavo Petro and Colombia's courageous leadership. This shows the Colombian government that the people of the world stand with them as they introduce this resolution.
Why? To show solidarity with dock workers who may be striking or refusing to handle military shipments. Protesting at ports publicly disrupts the supply lines that enable the violence and highlights corporate complicity.
We can't list every location here, but you can find them. Search online for terms like:
"Official residence of [Your Country's Leader]""Colombian embassy in [Your Country]" or "Colombian consulate in [Your City]""Major shipping ports in [Your Country]"We also strongly encourage you to connect with local Palestinian solidarity and anti-war groups in your area, as they will be organizing events.
To be effective, our message must be clear, unified, and loud. The most formal message is below, followed by shorter slogans.
"[Your Country's Leader], authorize our representative to the United Nations to immediately endorse Colombia’s Uniting for Peace resolution authorizing the deployment of a UN-mandated multinational armed protective force to the borders of Palestine immediately."
